Cortland Steck
Director in charge Manufacturing & Engineering, Naval Architect and Mechanical
Engineer.
Cortland Steck most recently was the Vice President of Manufacturing for McKinna
Corporation, located in West Palm Beach, Florida. Mr. Steck was responsible for all
functions involved in the manufacture of a full line of luxury motor yachts, ranging in
size from 47' to 65' in length. Mr. Steck has an extensive marine design and manufacturing
background garnered over his 25 years of managing successful boat building projects.
Mr. Steck served as Chief Engineer and Naval Architect for Hunter Marine Corporation in
Alachua, Florida, where he was responsible for the design and engineering of its new line
of mass-produced recreational sailboats. Mr. Steck implemented numerous new and innovative
design features and production techniques that enabled Hunter Marine to increase it's
production from 300 to 1200 boats a year, and to increase the company's retail sales from
$10,000,000 to $40,000,000 all from one facility. Mr. Steck has over 20 years experience
in the design and manufacture of recreational power in sailboats, both monohulls and
multihulls ranging in size from 19' to 146' in length, and has over 5000 boats built to
his designs in service.
Mr. Steck is also the owner of Cortland Steck Yacht Designs, a company he founded in 1984,
which has successfully undertaken a variety of innovative marine design, management and
consulting projects. Additionally, Mr. Steck has also held positions as the Chief Engineer
& Director of Engineering at Trident Shipworks, of Tampa, Florida, Executive
Vice-President, Director of Engineering and Manufacturing with Endeavor International
Corporation, Project Design Engineer at Advanced Technology & Research, Head Project
Design Engineer for Disney World's Monorail, Head Project Design Engineer for the Goodyear
Airship Passenger Car, Head Project Design Engineer for Busch Garden's Simulator and Chief
Engineer and Naval Architect for Hunter Marine Corporation in Alachua, Florida. Mr.
Steck's years of innovation and successful production management are invaluable assets to
